BLACK PEOPLE- EVEN GOD IS TIRED OF OUR STUPIDITY
Am sure that in the last two to three decades ago, God is probably thinking aloud that, “what the hell is wrong with this black people, did i mistakenly put their brain under their feet?” However, because God knows that mistake is not part of his nature he would probably concluded in his mind that, “no way would i have put their brains under their feet, they are just advancing every year in their stupidity”
Just like God, am so pissed with the noise of American visa lottery registration i hear at every bus stop i have been in the last seven weeks. I have been pissed by a lot of stuff in my life, so the noise doesn’t really bother me. What actually breathe hot air down the back of my head is the multitude of people who queue up to get registered. Both young and old and even the very old jostled to upload pictures of their black faces on the internet for an eighteen years old white girl who sits behind a desk in Chicago or Washington or somewhere in the US to decide their hope of ever living the American dream.
The enthusiasm and hope expressed by those that got registered made me wonder if the America that these guys are crazy about is not the same America that the citizen are complaining of 8% unemployment rate and bad economy. The bad economy that made the great BARAK OBAMA almost lost his re-election bid. The same America with hurricane sandy, Katharina and God-knows-what-the-next-one-would-be is ripping apart every state and killing hundreds of people. These hurricanes are so mean that they will get your ass no matter what, whether you came into the US yesterday through visa lottery or whether you trek the whole of the Sahara desert to get in.
Am sure that some of you reading this are probably thinking that Nigerians and African are facing worse situation here at home. You may even have concluded in your mind that it is better to die enjoying constant energy, good roads and the beautiful environment of America than to die in the darkness of Nigeria. You might have even added to your conclusion that you would prefer a sandy to the bomb of the dreaded Boko Harram sect in Kano or Borno state in Nigeria. If this is what you are thinking, am sorry to break your heart with the news that the purpose why am writing this article is not about where it is better to live and die but it’s what I call voluntary slavery.
Many of us are quick to condemn the white people for a century long of slave trade in Africa. However, a century later, without the burden of chains on necks and hands or the fear of guns to the head, we voluntarily fly ourselves over to Europe and America to develop their economy and countries, for some meager pay. This is why God is probably pissed and thinking, “I saved these black guys from slavery and now they are putting themselves right back into it. What a dumb people”
What was the purpose of slavery? To use black people in Europe and America to develop their countries and economy, without benefits or pay. What is the purpose of visa lottery? To fly semi skilled and skilled people to America to develop the country and economy with some lean benefit. During slave trade, the benefit and pay for shipping Africans to America and Europe went to the kings and the chiefs in Africa. Mind you, these benefits were mirrors, ceramic plates and cups. In the case of voluntary slave that we are experiencing in present time, the benefit goes to the voluntary slaves directly.
The idea is this, give these voluntary slaves the notion that they are earning a living but make them work their black butt out in the unfriendly cold weather while you tax every coin they make so that they become unable to contribute anything tangible back home.
I know of people who have lived in Europe and America for more than ten years with nothing to show for it except their winter jacket, two rooms apartment they are yet to finish paying mortgage on and a car they bought on credit. Back home, their families have stop hoping after waiting in vain for dollar bills that never came. For the so lucky ones abroad who have been able to make some few thousands of dollars legally, I can authoritatively state that their luck is not better than the luck of a Nigerian banker who earns more than a hundred thousand Naira and have access to loan. Buy the way, these bankers also have the benefit of a bankers check. With this they can buy anything and pay instrumentally. What this means is that it is not so much of a big deal if you work and earn good money abroad.
Don’t be decided my dear readers, majority of our Nigerian and African brothers and sisters abroad wished they could return home, but the shame of coming back empty handed has kept them coping with the trauma of not being able to return to their people. It is this trauma that leads a lot of young Nigerians abroad to card fraud and all kinds of financial crimes.
Many brilliant and educated Nigerians who are suppose to be great doctors, engineers and innovators are out there in the cold changing diapers for old white people and babysitting white imbecile babies. Please don’t get me wrong, am not saying that black people should not travel abroad, am only stating that we should stop presenting ourselves as voluntary slaves in white man’s country all in the name of seeking greener pastures. The problems with most of us who are crazy about traveling and living abroad is that we have conditioned our minds to believe that it is only abroad that we can live a good life thereby blindfolding ourselves to the enormous opportunity here at home.
My black brother and sisters reading this article, it’s high time we stopped complaining about what government is doing or not doing and focus on the opportunities available to us. Don’t forget that if some white ancient guys did not make use of the opportunities available to them to build what we know of Europe and America years ago, there wouldn’t have been a Europe and America to run to today.
Am tired of writing so i will stop here but i hope that God will not get tired of black people and give up on us because of our stupidity.
